Lezyne year 8 KTV Macro Drive Duo Zecto Auto (2)

Founded in 2007, Lezyne is now into their 8th year of Engineered Design. While keeping with their beautiful design ethos, the tools are more diverse than ever with a full on electronics division along side their numerous tools and bags. Changes to the multi tools include the new RAP 21 which along with a revised shape for better fit in your hand and tool stiffness, includes a compact LED light along with the standard tools.

In addition to the tools, Lezyne has some intelligent new lights that are definitely worth a look…

As evolutions of the Zecto Drive Pro that we’ve been loving, Lezyne has new versions of the Zecto including the Zecto Drive Auto. How many times have you started riding only to wonder if you had turned on your rear flasher? The Auto not only turns on by itself when it senses motion, but it will turn itself off as well after you stop for 3 minutes. The light features up to 20 lumens of red light in 3 flash modes plus ecomony, blast, and daytime modes.

Designed for mounting to the top of your helmet, the Macro Drive Duo provides both front and rear illumination. The light offers 400 lumens at the front and 5 lumens at the rear along with side visibility for improved safety. Using a 2 amp rechargeable battery the Macro Drive Duo has up to a 10 hour run time.

The amusingly named KTV is now available in the KTV Drive as well as KTV Drive Pro (right). The lights are compact with an easy mounting system and a built in USB stick recharging system. The Drive is front or rear specific with 15 or 7 lumens respectively, while the Drive Pro provides up to 70 lumens of bright white light.

KTV Drive and Drive Pros will be available separately or in twin packs  with front and rear Drive or Drive Pro/Drive rear.

Lezyne is also getting into cell phone protection for the bike with their new Smart Dry Caddies. The waterproof bags feature QR mounts and are touch screen compatible. Available in sizes for iPhone 4, 5, and other popular phone sizes like the Samsung S4.

On the pump side Lezyne is now shipping the Gauge Drive HP and HV which includes the ABS Pen Gauge. Along with measuring the PSI you’re putting in the tire, the ABS chuck uses the Air Bleed System to release the air pressure in the pump hose which eliminates the possibility of unthreading presta valve cores. The ABS Pen Gauge is also available separately as an upgrade for current pumps.

I had no idea Leyzyne were such a young company. They’re pumps are nothing short of superb. I’m impressed.

Hmm, I was just on their site and I saw they had a digital gauge that is compatible with all their floor pumps. The issue is, its 300 PSI, so if your pumping a MTB, your at less then 10% of full scale, which means your out of the typical hysteresis of the gauge. Trying to find a review, a bikeradar.com article said that it was rated to a +/- 3% accuracy, which is pretty bad as typically accuracy is rated based upon full scale, which means that it could be off by as much as 9 PSI.

Cool Concept, poor execution.

@Collin S

I saw a review that Singletrack UK Mag did that had the Lezyne Digital Gauge at +/- 1. The 3% thing does sound aweful but i am curious what other brands digitals are listed as. Also, is it +/- 3 PSI or %? I can’t remember what Singletrack said. I will have to look it up. I hope it’s PSI. I have a Lezyne CNC Road pump and love it. If they offer a digital gauge I would be keen to swap mine out. Could be cool. Have to check into it.

I do like that big gauge tho. Looks nice. But my pump won’t die so I guess I won’t be able to get one.

This is another review that also claims 3% http://www.pinkbike.com/news/lezyne-digital-drive-review-2014.html Again, most gauges/ pressure transducers/load cells, etc claim the accuracy on full scale.

Thank you for taking the time to read the Lezyne posting by Bikerumor and taking some time to submit a comment.

Just to clear up a few facts we list the +/- at 3% only because of the pressure sensors manufacture specifications and is a worse case listing based on extreme temps and high pressure ratings. You never know how someone is going to use a product so we like to be honest based on facts and testing. And the true accuracy is based on the programming and when its set.
Through all of our testing we have never seen this to be an issue and have NEVER seen a 9psi variance (that you posted). And we test the gauges new and after a series of drop tests to ensure accuracy and rarely see 1psi differences at 100psi and up to 300psi. Mechanical gauges (depending on the design) are generally not as robust.

We also perform many QC procedures before and after assembly to ensure the gauges and pumps perform as they should to accuracy setting a bench mark in the industry for quality.

Cool to see a cool company taking the time and responding (deleted).

Still, it would be nice to know if you tested typical mtb pressures, say 10 to 30 psi range?

@huu: they do have high volume pumps that only go to 70, which should give better accuracy at lower pressures.

@huu:
Yes, the Lezyne digital gauge is also very accurate at lower pressure.

Our high volume floor pumps (DIRT Floor Drives) do not come with a digital gauge, but all manual gauges were improved with a new and more robust system for 2015 models. Available and shipping now.

Have the mounts been strengthened at all? That was the Achilles heel on mine, lost a pump on a very rough trail. All I was left with was a strip of plastic still mounted to my frame. Somewhere out there is a nice pump, with half a mount still attached. I loved the pump, but can’t afford to lose one again like that.
