100% have released a gravel-specific version of the Altis Trail helmet. The lack of peak is what sets the Altis Gravel apart from its mountain bike counterpart, shaving weight and improving air channeling through the front-facing vents.
100% Altis Gravel Helmet
The new 100% Altis Gravel Helmet comes in at $100 USD, just like its peak-adorned trail riding counterpart. As far as we can see, it gets the exact same shell with 14 ventilation ports, the same Smartshock rotational impact protection system with 11 elastomers, the same adjustable ratcheting fitment system and the same Nexus push release snap-buckle. Good to know that 100% feel gravel riding requires just as much head coverage as mountain biking.
Losing the peak will make it a little lighter, and gives it a more gravel-appropriate aesthetic for those who care. Without it, you’ll be needing your sunglasses to keep the sun out of your eyes. When the weather is overcast the 100% Altis Gravel can stow your eyewear at the rear. Inside the helmet you’ll find a washable, moisture-wicking anti-microbial liner.
