The Bangkok to Saigon Cycle Challenge is an annual fundraising ride through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Riders will cover 1000km (621miles) over two weeks. The ride is fully supported and has been referred to as “the toughest vacation you’ll ever love.” by David Mantrop, 2004 participant. 2009 will be the 10th year of this incredible ride.
In addition to riding through areas of these countries far from the standard tourist sites, the riders will also get the chance to spend a few days at Angkor Wat -the world’s largest temple complex, and spend a day in Phnom Penh -the capital of Cambodia.
Proceeds will be used to help the most deprived children in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Funds are distributed evenly between four organizations that work with orphaned and ortherwise disadvantaged children: Rejoice Urban Development Project, Krousar Thmey, Mith Samlanh and The Saigon Childrens Charity.
