BH bikes is bringing a new member to their 2011 family of bikes. It comes in the form of their new RC1 road bike. It has smooth lines and closely resembles their top of the line G5. The frame geometry on the RC1 frame actually mirrors that of the G5, with the exception of shorter seat mast heights designed to accommodate the 300mm arrow style seat post similar to that found on the current G5 model. The RC1 also benefits from using the same fork design as the G5. The majority of the RC1 frame is made up of a very high-end Toray fiber that is of a proprietary nature developed for Formula 1 race cars with the use of some slightly heavier intermediate modulus composites in the front triangle. The RC1 is available with Shimano 105, Ultegra, or a SRAM Red mix, weighing in at 15.5 pounds complete. With a frame weight difference of only 70 grams over the G5, the RC1 is in the ranks of the world’s lightest race bikes.
On a side note, BH has now launched their updated U.S. website detailing the RC1 along with the rest of their 2011 range.
