Choose your own tool -whether you’re more into the latest carbon machine, full suspension trail bike or single speed- the beauty of mountain biking is in the ride experience, not so much the progression of gear.
The blokes over at Pipedream melded old and new and crafted a new tool out of Reynolds 931 tubing. They have made a limited run of 100 steel frames, just the kind of bike a lot of us learned to ride trails on, except with 21st century handling characteristics. All frame sizes are claimed sub-4lbs, with tube walls as thin as 0.9mm but twice the tensile strength of 3/2.5 titanium at a comparable weight.
