Dero Racks may not be very well known to consumers, but as the supplier for a lot of racking for bike shops, and a lot of creative bike racks for locking up outdoors, you have probably seen their products without even knowing it.
New for 2015, they have some cool racks that start to bridge the gap between business and consumer use. Going into their 20th year in business, they are introducing a few new products that are pretty creative, and look really good, so they might even work for your home.
The Type Rider, shown above is a cool way to build a bike rack, and have some fun. A bike shop could use racks that would double as signage, or you could spell out your name in your front yard, and have a place to lock up your bikes too. Dero products are mostly made-to-order, so there is a huge variety of colors available, and pricing is by quote from their website, since they primarily work with business and industry. The Ultra Space Saver Squared provides vertical bike parking in a staggered format, to minimize the space needed to store a lot of bikes. Seemingly the foundation of a dream garage, the rack has sliding arms to adjust it into the right space, is made from a pipe-cutter resistant square steel tubing to keep your rides safe, and has an optional angled arm that can save even more space.
Compatible with fenders, fat bikes and U-locks, the Ultra Space Saver Squared should work for just about anything, and is a full modular system, and can even stand-alone in the middle of a room with mounts on both sides.
The Cycle Dock is a simple outdoor rack with three points of contact to the bike, and wide spacing to allow for two bikes to lock up to a single unit. Minimalist in appearance, it won’t detract from the architectural styling of modern buildings.
Perhaps the most unobtrusive of all the racks, the Alley Rack can bolt to the ground or a building, and folds flat and out of the way when not in use. While it has been around for awhile, this new version is fully redesigned to swing a full 180º, and the 5/8″ thick steel keeps a bike safe. The Alley Rack sells for $293.
With all these new products, Dero has also redone their website to make it easier to see and purchase all of the products online. As some of their products become much more attractive to consumers, this will help make it easier for these sales of single units. Large quantity orders for business will still go through the Dero office.
