If you’re going to have an anniversary celebration, the Sea Otter Classic seems as good a backdrop as any. Aside from the 25th anniversary of Sea Otter itself and Marin’s 3oth, Magura USA brought out the big guns to honor their 40th anniversary (Magura itself is over 120 years old). We’re talking RaceLine Yellow. Shaun Palmer. Intense M16. And a massive 1975 Cadillac Coupe de Ville Custom to top it all off. Magura’s new show vehicle won’t be winning an awards for going “green” but it certainly stole the show…

It’s hard to talk about Magura history without bringing up the Hs33 hydraulic brakes, especially in Raceline yellow. Dating back to the early ’90s when they first came on the pro cross country scene, the heir to the Raceline throne is the new MT7 Limited Edition. Taking the standard Magura MT7 four piston hydraulic brake as a starting point, the limited edition is the same brake but with a much brighter finish and Raceline laser engraving. Coming to the U.S. in just 250 pairs, the RaceLine MT7s sell for $319 per brake and include Magura’s 5 year leakproof guarantee.

The brakes will also be found on the Limited Edition Shaun Palmer Replica Intense M16. As part of their renewed sponsorship of the Miserable Champion and their focus on the rebirth of American downhill racing, Intense will be offering an extremely limited run of the new M16 complete with the American Flag paint job 2.0 (see Palmer’s original Intense with Troy Lee Designs paint job for v 1.0). No word on pricing or availability, but don’t expect cheap or many.

The Intense was pretty rad, but the real show stopper was Magura’s new ‘promotional vehicle.’ This pristine 1975 Cadillac Coupe de Ville got a custom Magrua wrap to celebrate the 40th anniversary, but that Parlor Room Red interior is all original, baby. Seeing it in person, it’s hard to believe they used to make cars this big – there is enough room for 3, maybe 4 bodies bikes in the trunk alone. Custom wheels with Vredestein tires and yellow calipers top it all off. Hopefully this thing will see some donuts in the desert out at Magura Press Camp…

Because High School; you can fit 9 people in the trunk of those.

The brakes on the Intense look more powerful than the puny single pistons on the Caddy!

Ten bucks says that car was Palmer’s idea. Five more says it was his caddy and he somehow made money on the deal.
