More riders than ever are looking to pass down their love of mountain biking to their offspring which also means more riders are looking for kids’ mountain bikes. As we all know, quality bikes are pretty expensive which is even worse when your kid will outgrow it right before your eyes. That’s exactly what makes the new Morpheus Vimana Jr. so interesting. Taking full advantage of their adjustable chainstay design, the Vimana Jr. can grow with your little one as they progress from 20″ to 24″ wheels.

While the Vimana is certainly skewed to the DJ/park side of the spectrum, the build should make for a bomb proof bike that young rippers can use to hone their skills…

Using the same main frame and fork, the Vimana Jr. will use different dropout plates to accommodate the two wheel sizes. If you’re unfamiliar with the TRD dropout design on the Morpheus frames, they use a serrated plate that allows the dropout to adjust back and forth to dial in chain tension.

Packed with all of the same features as the adult 26″ Vimana, the 20″ build will be geared towards riders age 6-10 and the 24″ for ages 10-13. Pricing is expected to be under $1000 for the 20″ and $1250 for the 24″ Vimana Jr. The grow kit will be sold separately to allow owners of the 20″ bike transition to the bigger 24″ wheels.

For the big shredders, the Generation 2 Vimana dirt jump frame uses a new forged BB/chainstay junction to make it 30% stiffer while also removing about 100g from the total frame weight. Available for $595 for the frame, completes will start at $1,595 with a premium build available for $1,995.

The V-Slope has been teased for awhile and it will finally be available in July. Using a linkage driven single pivot with a BB concentric pivot, the frame can still run single speed and is geared towards slopestyle riding, hence the name. We’re told that there will also be a new carbon DH bike shown later this year. Don’t have a Morpheus dealer near by? Morpheus founder Mike Schwartz tells us that they are now offering the bikes for sale consumer direct.

The Mopheus guys are a great bunch. They did a demo day at the MegaCavern in Louisville and were shredding the s__t out of these bikes.

Beautiful frames and good component selection on the completes. Call and talk to Chad!

I’m all for more kids options! Is the Manitou fork crown going to hit the downtube when bottomed out?? If not, it looks like its going to be REALLY close…

Neither are specced with front brakes, that’s disappointing. I got sick of seeing my 4yr-old lock up his rear wheel on steep descents, doing huge fishtails, and eventually going over the bars. We got him a proper kid’s bike from Spawn Cycles, taught him how to brake properly with a front bias while shifting his weight to the rear, and he’s been completely in control and fearless since.

@Dave, The main photo on the Spawn site has a kid riding without a front brake. Lol. I never checked out Spawn Cycles until l you just mentioned Morpheous’ lack of front brake. Although, I see Spawn has models with front brakes.
