Boxer Cycles, located across the pond is using a Crowdfunding source that is almost as unique as the bikes they build.  My first thought was this bike is a Hollywood creation straight out of a Jules Verne novel. Then I thought that if I were to ever have a front load cargo trike, this would have to be it! What does it offer? Electric Assist? Check.  Hi/Lo beam light and blinkers? Check. JET ENGINE SIMULATOR THAT CHANGES WITH THROTTLE INPUT?…….. TAKE MY MONEY!!!

Check out what else they offer and how their Crowdfunding works as well as video showing the JET SIMULATOR.

Retro style electric trike a cross between Jules Verne and Flash Gordon is turning heads on the south coast. A dad of two is hoping his bike business takes off after launching these stunning electric tricycles inspired by 1930s aeroplanes. Jeremy Davies designed the incredible three-wheeled machine so he could cart his young children Eve and Sid back and forth to the beach near his home town of Poole, Dorset. But he turned so many heads with his one-of-a-kind vehicle that he decided to go into business - and the wacky trikes have been flying off the shelves since going on sale last month. However anyone wanting to get their hands on one will need deep pockets - because they come with a hefty £4,950 price tag.

Shown here with optional rain cover, I couldn’t quit starring at one of their alternative colors in the background. According to their website, the Rocket is available in silver/red (shown), silver/black, gold/blue, gold /green. The E-bike driven Rocket will retail for £4,950.00

Every detail was meticulously covered including the bullet tail light and that big beautiful Brooks saddle.

If rocketing around isn’t your thing, they make the Boxer Shuttle which isn’t as spacey as their Rocket, but is still packed with eye-catching features. You can even purchase some of their neat accessories like a children’s bike rack or….. a dog door. The Shuttle is available with or without an E-bike power assist and will retail for £1,950.00 and £2,880.00.

They even have a general Cargo model with a massive storage area that is well protected by a lockable aluminum roller shutter quick release spring loaded door. The Cargo also comes in both E-bike and standard versions and retails for £2,800.00 and £3,900.00.

They chose a unique route to crowdfund their company by allowing investors to invest as little as £10, but in doing so they receive equity (shares) in the business. Furthermore, the business is registered with the governments ‘Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme’ (SEIS) which allows investors to receive 50% of their investment back in income tax relief. So far, they look to be about half-way to reaching their £48,004 goal.

Here’s a detailed video of the Boxer Rocket’s numerous features, but if you just want to hear its Jet Simulator, skip up to 2:45 and be amazed. Oh, it also makes HarDley Davidson and 1940’s warplane sounds so grab your leather cap and goggles and get ready for an adventure.

I fully expect the model in the lead photo to make an appearance at Burning Man, as it seems like something concocted by a burner artist.

Great to see some fun options become available for hauling your kids around without a car.

I will admit I have had a couple strong IPAs but I really had to squint at this article to make sure I’m not seeing things. I love it!
