After being teased earlier this year, DVO is one step closer to offering an air shock of their own. After first starting with their Emerald inverted DH fork which was quickly followed by the Jade coil shock, DVO started in on enduro with the Diamond suspension fork. Looking to make it a pair, the Topaz will round out the enduro suspension lineup with air springs front and rear. Showing a few changes since we last saw it, the Topaz is almost production ready. The Brown Diamond suspension fork on the other hand – that may or may not see the light of day depending on consumer demand…
Shown in prototype form at Taipei, this more production looking Topaz T3 Air shock still uses a finned cooling reservoir, but the piggyback is now shorter and wider. The shock will use a bladder damping system just like the one found on the Jade which should offer excellent small bump compliance and a smoother stroke off the top. One unique feature will be the ability to tune the shock’s air volume using internal spacers that can be installed or removed without taking the shock off the bike.
The T3 adjustment system offers open, medium, and firm compression settings as well as externally adjustable rebound. To be sold in Imperial, Metric, an Trunnion Metric sizing, DVO should have all of the bases covered when the shock delivers later this year.
A brown suspension fork doesn’t sound all that appealing on paper, but when it’s this pearlescent brown that was inspired by the paint of an Audi, that changes things. While the brown isn’t yet an official option, DVO is looking for feedback as to whether or not the color should make it to production. We’re thinking it looks pretty good…
As for something that will definitely make it to production, DVO says they will soon have Boost 110 versions of the Diamond available.
