cascadia 3

Danny MacAskill and GoPro take to the colorful rooftops of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, for his latest and most eye-catching video yet – Cascadia! The cinematography is almost as impressive as Danny’s skills taking the visual stimulation to a whole new level.

Drop past the break for the stunning video and try not to fall out of your chair when viewing it from Danny’s perspective……

Insane. I’ve seen him fall, so I’m assuming it’s also possible to fall when the consequence is likely death.

JBikes – While the risk is absolutely real.. the specific tricks he was doing are pretty easy for someone as good at trials as he is.. all flat surfaces, most fairly wide.

Also note unlike many videos, he’s on a pretty no nonsense dirt jump bike.. probably the thing he’s most comfortable on.

Makes you want to get out and ride. This video is dope. It should be banned for the sake of little kids on bikes… :-p

@ayyggss – Bills is correct, the moves he’s doing throughout most of the video are pretty standard bike trials moves. However, it’s the magnitude and consequences that make the video so cool. When I rode trials, I could hop onto ledges and walls like some of that, but no way would I do it on top of a building!
As far as the bike, it is what’s known as a “street trials” bike. Sort of a cross between trials and dirt jump. A “competition” trials bike is basically a two wheeled pogo stick. Their geometry makes them really easy to hop on the rear wheel, but quite awkward to do the tricks Danny is known for. Since the majority of Danny’s videos highlight his tricks (it’s what makes him fun to watch… competition trials videos are amazing but boring), it makes sense he’d stick to that bike. Plus his bike sponsor only makes that kind of bikes…
Anyway, good stuff all around. And I wouldn’t do a front flip into the ocean like no matter what I was riding. I wouldn’t even jump off my feet from that height!

I always make sure to have a color matched ramp at the edge of my roof in case a trials superstar happens to come along and back flip between me and my neighbors house… 🙂
