Disclaimer: Bikerumor.com and its editorial staff can not be held liable for consequences due to inappropriate time spent away from work & life duties, or heckling Wout Van Aert from your cubicle….. though I can think of a couple of past employments I’d gladly lose over watching this in the loudest way possible. Don’t for one second think you can make it 10 minutes in and turn it off.

Sveness 4.2, from the folks at CXhairs.com, is not just a race between some fast guys. This is the Koksijde World Cup in Belgium on the course most believe sets the bar as far as cross courses are concerned. It’s safe to say, 99% of elite cross racers could not do one lap on this course without dismounting. (the 1% are here and do it). The drama unfolds as the battle for the podium is between iconic legend and 2005 & 2013 World Champion Sven Nys, new kid on the block, Wout Van Aert who has won almost everything he touches, and 2015 World Champion Mathieu van der Poel who is doing his first World Cup Race of the season due to a knee injury.

Jump the barrier and check out the some of the best cross coverage ever at the Koksijde World Cup…..

SVENNESS 4.2 from In The Crosshairs on Vimeo.

Though a very well put together edit, nothing beats the Jaws reference in this morsel.

The URL is CXHairs.com – can you please fix the second paragraph? The link is correct, but the text is CrossHairs.com

LOVE the Svenness videos. This one is one of the best and that race was so good. A million watts in that last section before the sprint.

Pure power everywhere.

Why they don’t use drops even while sprinting?

That has to be the best ad for cyclocross in its history.

OMFG, I could not sit through the incessant cut aways TO GIGANTIC TEXT IN MY FACE every 5 seconds. This video was made for people with ADD. Is it not possible to just show the race without interrupting every 5 seconds with a wall of text? Sorry, it wasn’t for me. I’ll try to find actual race footage elsewhere, I am interested in the actual racing.

found it!

it’s an hour, and it has normal commentary, in English. For those who have a normal attention span and want to watch the whole thing…

Awesome race! 2 great riders no doubt! Having said that those bikes handle like shit! Roadbike geometry isn’t ideal for offroad! They should at least have a flat bar! Brian Lopes did a few cyclocross races back in the day with a flat bar (think it was banned soon after…)
