YT Industries has made some massive waves and even bigger drops the last few years in the downhill and freeride scenes. YT is buttering up their enduro-esq carbon fiber CAPRAs with standard fare across the board including Reverb droppers, Maxxis Highroller II’s and variations of SRAM’s 1 x 11 drivetrains & Guide stoppers.
The CAPRA CF Pro Race sports the Fox 36 Float Factory fork and Float X2 Factory shock out back giving the pilot plenty of tunability. The “Race” in the CAPRA Pro Race is based on getting you from point A up top to point B far below as fast as possible and includes carbon goodies from DT Swiss & Renthal to bring it down to 28 lbs. The CF Pro Race is fitted with the least amount of travel (160mm) up front out of the 3 carbon CAPRA whips as Enduro “racers” that have the skill and ability to float like a butterfly over the rough are willing to sacrifice a little forgiveness for a little extra speed. Retail on the CAPRA CF Pro Race is $5,999 USD.
The CAPRA CF Pro, keeping the Fox 36 Float Factory fork and Float X2 Factory shock, boasts a whopping 180mm of travel up front and 170mm out back. The CAPRA CF Pro is primed for rough terrain, big-mountain, harder landings and bike park fun. Equipped with Mavic Crossmax XL wheels and a Renthal Fatbar & Apex stem, the price comes down a smidge while keeping it tough as nails and still a respectable 29 lbs. Retail on the CAPRA CF Pro is $5,499 USD.
The CAPRA CF comp is still ready to party with 170mm RockShox Lyrik RCT3 up front and a Monarch Plus RC3 out back to supply 165mm of travel. The 29.7 lb CF Comp comes stacked with a parts from Raceface and E*thirteen to keep it boutique but at a wallet friendly price of $4,699 USD.
Shortly after announcing their entry into the US, YT released their TUES CF carbon DH bikes. For the big hitters, YT Industries tweaked the TUES lineup with the new Fox goods and some carbon bits to lighten things up. The TUES CF Pro is built with Fox Factory 40 Float up front and X2 Factory shock along with a smattering of light-weight carbon goodness including wheels and cranks from E*thirteen and Renthal’s Fatbars to keep the weight down to a scant 33.8 lbs. Retail on the TUES CF Pro is $6,299.
Keeping things on the upper end with a significant price reduction, the TUES CF Comp is equipped with the RockShox Boxxer Team and Vivid R2C along with DT Swiss YT 2020 wheels and Raceface Atlas cockpit. Retail on the TUES CF Comp is $4,499 putting it in the bread and butter price range for a bike of this caliber that weighs in at a respectable 36.5 lbs.
For those starting out but who don’t like to compromise, YT Industries offers their TUES AL with Boxxer RC fork and Kage RC shock. With what should perform similar to their flagship Carbon models, the TUES AL makes for a great gateway bike into downhill by possibly giving the rider similar confidence that a bike twice its price would. Retail on the TUES AL is $2,899.
