Santini has worked with the Santos Tour Down Under since 2007, providing leaders’ jerseys for the first race on the international cycling calendar that heads out of Adelaide. To commemorate ten years of working together Santini has designed three new commemorative jerseys to call out three key stages of the 6 stage race. The Corkscrew Road, Old Willunga Hill, and the city of Adelaide itself each get a unique design, in addition to this year’s overall Ochre leader jersey, mountain, sprinter, and young rider jerseys, all of which are available to the public. Take a closer look after the break…
Santini’s exclusive collection of jerseys starts off with the famous Corkscrew Road known for its steep and sharp switchbacks. It gets the most low-key of the designs with some patterned dots and a subtle corkscrew design.
Each of the three limited edition short sleeve, full-zip jerseys retails for 69€. They’re made from Santini’s Artico fabric in the front and Dragon fabric on the sleeves and back, and have a traditional 3 pocket layout.
The Old Willunga Hill stage, which often makes a decisive mark on the final classification gets a more striking camo design with an image of the giant crown that riders find painted on the road at the top of the climb.
The final jersey celebrating the South Australian capital of Adelaide and home base of the event for the last 16 years. It gets a more high-vis look with bright yellows and pink, and a more prominently playful southern hemisphere cyclist.
The TDU Leader Jerseys a made with the same cut that Santini uses for the Giro d’Italia and sell for 75€. They use a light Kontatto fabric on the front, with a Cyber Rider fabric on the back, get raw cut cuffs and an invisible 3/4 zipper. The Santos Tour Down Under Leader Jerseys are: Ochre for the general classification leader, Green for the best young rider, Polka Dots for the best climber, and Red for the sprint classification leader.
