Forget those jelly of the month clubs. What you really want is a wheelset of the month. Ok, you won’t really be getting a new wheelset each month, but ENVE will have a new limited edition wheelset each month of the year for 2016. Designed around a number of factors, wheels like their special edition for January take inspiration from charities, their team partners, athletes, and even custom frame builders. For January that meant an SES 4.5 clincher set with custom hubs and rim decals for Team Dimension Data and Qhubeka charity.

For the month of February, it’s the mountain biker’s turn…

Based on their M60 HV wheelset, the February edition is a collaboration with the artist Alex Mcadoo who had this to say on ENVE’s facebook:

“This design is a combination of American aesthetics; it’s native northwest art, graffiti, redneck flames, Mike Tyson tattoos, American nature, heavy metal, hip hop culture, extreme sports, and other things I’ve yet to realize all mixed together as one unifying wood grain aesthetic. This is the fusion of pop culture aesthetics combined with the flowing intricacy of the forest floor. We must remember that nature is the backbone of life balance and in this piece the natural wood grain brings us all together.”

Each limited edition wheelset includes matching hubs with ceramic bearings, “custom memorabilia”, and double wheel bags. Available world wide in limited numbers, each new edition will be announced at the start of each month through ENVE’s dealer network, newsletter, and social media.

Outstanding idea (because, you know, ENVE wheels were insufficiently exclusive prior to this new program…)

I’d say actually making them out of natural wood grain would better encompass the “unifying wood grain aspect”
Or sell them with a Radiohead single

I think they’re a little bit too subtle if it’s trying to bring and idea/organization to light

Agreed. Looks like the marketing department only gave up so much creative control to the artist.
