With basically no defining framework or stylistic restraints, the art we find on city streets often contains uniquely creative imagery and innovative techniques. These works are proudly created by skilled hands seeking to color our urban world with engaging eye-candy, and now CatEye wants to encourage us to take an evening to check out our area’s best street art during their Art of Ride campaign.

CatEye gathered artists from cities around the world to select some of the best pieces of street art they could find. Cyclists are invited to fire up their lights and go for self-guided evening rides on these selected routes, highlighting street art along the way. Currently the route map for Denver, Colorado is available online and another is in the works for London, England. But for those who don’t reside near these two cities, there’s still a way to participate regardless of your location…

The Denver, Colorado tour was assembled by local street artist Pedro Barrios. His chosen route features eight stops, and includes all the pieces seen in these photos. The video below shows a sped-up version of the Denver tour.

“CatEye lights can bring a new and vibrant perspective to street art within any urban nightscape, but they’re also instrumental to staying safe while riding any road, day or night,” said Jayson Goh, CatEye’s Global Marketing Manager. “So whether you’re heading out to check out the latest mural from your favorite street artist, or simply burning some calories on an afternoon ride, always be sure to have the proper lighting to be seen from any perspective.”

If you’re nowhere near Denver or London, you can still participate in the Art of Ride campaign – riders from any city worldwide can contribute their own photos of urban art to the project, anytime by sharing them on social media with the hashtag #ArtOfRide.

This certainly sounds like it could add a cool element to a casual evening ride, and why not finish the tour with a tasty brew at your local pub? Check out the route maps and follow the campaign over at CatEye’s website or @CatEyeBicycle on Instagram and Facebook.
