Just get a new bike with Boost spacing and have a ton of wheels that aren’t boost? Depending on the hubs, the Lindarets/WTC Boostinator kit has been a viable option, but for others, additional hardware is needed. For hubs like those found on the high end American Classic wheels, end caps won’t cut it which is why American Classic is offering their own Boost hub adapter kit which will include an entire axle assembly. Available for both front and rear hubs, the kit will include a Boost spacing axle (110 or 148mm) for 12mm thru axles and it will include a disc rotor spacer with longer hardware to reposition the rotor. According to American Classic, the adapter will fit all of their high end hubs and it will retail for $35 an axle this January.
We’re fairly up to date with wheel and rims from American Classic, though they are adding one new rim that should fit the bill if you’re looking for wide and affordable…
Called the 3834, the name is derived from the 38mm external width and 34mm internal width. The aluminum rims will be offered in 27.5 or 29″, each with 32 holes, a black finish, and a weight of 473/496g. The tubeless compatible rims will sell for $89 a piece this January.
