Bike Services

  • Velofix hires key Canyon exec to lead their global expansion – Bringing on Ward Grootjans, former head of business development for Canyon bikes, to lead their own expansion, mobile shop outfit Velofix is making a big play for a more consumer-focused growth worldwide. Grootjans is said to stay based in the Netherlands, and will focus on bringing the Velofix vans first into the EU & UK in 2017, but is also said to be working on the new Velofix Direct project. We can surely speculate on what that might entail. • Bike Shop Girl launches mobile repair for Denver, CO – For anyone unsure if the mobile bike shop movement is here to stay, let’s look at more news. Arleigh Jenkins was looking to open a brick and mortar shop in northeast Denver this summer when a perfect location opened up just down the road from her. But she passed o the chance as it just didn’t make sense for her and her young family at the time. But a few weeks later, looking back at why she wanted her own shop it became clear that a mobile shop would let her deliver the customer service that she wanted, help get more people in her community on bikes, and support those already riding there. So the Bike Shop Girl brand was set up, and now she is taking her years a pro and master mechanic out to bike riders in her area. BikeShopGirl.com
