No, Trek isn’t having the same issue as certain Samsung phones. Trek announced today that it is recalling certain Flare RT and Ion 700 RT lights due to the possibility that they can turn off without warning when paired with a remote transmitter. Obviously, lights that could suddenly turn off while riding aren’t exactly ideal, so Trek is recalling affected lights and urges customers to check the date codes to see if their lights are part of the recall…
Sold as part of a Bontrager Transmtr light set with a remote, or individually with the Flare RT, the recall pertains to Flare RT and Ion 700 RT lights. Affected Flare RT lights will have a date code between Af0400001 and Af0400407 on the back of the light, while all of the affected Ion 700 RT lights have a date code of 1606 under the charging port cover. Owners will be given replacement lights as well as a $20 coupon towards Trek or Bontrager product for every return. Follow this link for more info.
