Is your multitool never there when you need it? The All In Multitool could be a solution. Not only is the tool always where you left it, but its home is on the bike making it so you no longer have to carry something in your pocket or hydration pack. Made in Italy and the design of Giacomo Macoratti, the All In Multitool looks like a pretty well thought out design, though you still may need to carry a separate chain tool…

Got a hollow crank spindle collecting mud? Why not utilize it for multitool storage? All In claims that the tool will fit any steel spindle crank that has at least a 21mm diameter to the inner hollow.

The round tool then slides into the spindle and 7 neodymium magnets hold it in place. Essentially a bit holder and a single rotating tool head, the tool includes six interchangeable bits – 3, 4, 5, and 6mm allen, T25 Torx, and a #1 Phillips. But like any tool that uses replaceable bits, you can customize your bit choices by buying new ones at the hardware store. At this time there isn’t an option for a chaintool, though it seems like All In may be working on something according to their site. Fully loaded the tool comes in at 115g (80g without bits). Available in five different colors for the tool’s end cap, All In Multitools sell for $70.21.

Knocking on wood I will say I never use a tool on the trail, honestly cannot remember ever using one and for sure have never broken a chain but… I still carry the minimum and this is awesome! Like to see a chain tool though, just being paranoid! Maybe stick it down the steerer like Specy do? maybe they patented it? I like the idea of separating the tools from the chaintool just in case you need one, the other doesn’t have to be faffed with. I love the Sahmurai Sword tire plug that fits in the bar and occasionally use that for my tires and anyone else I might be riding with. I hate putting tools and such in a pack and taking forever to go digging.

I like that you can keep your chain links on the tool as well. The web site shows this feature as well

Great idea… But HOW MUCH! I can’t help thinking the company would be better off, not paying for so many face book ads, leasing the design to an established brand too refine the design / manufacture them and make them cheaper. They’ve currently priced themselves out of the market.

I agree, way way too expensive.

I get that “made in Italy” carries some cachet in the cycling community, but $70 for a glorified screwdriver is completely bonkers.

No chain tool >> no interest. (Its also heavier and 2-3x the price of a similar multi-tool.)

70 for a totally custom tool is not bad as long as it does not fall out! Not everything has to be WalMart pricing, but Mikes right, weight is a factor for that price.

I have one of these. The Barstow Chain Tool is a great tool! Well made, light, and works well.

No way that thing doesn’t just rattle out and get lost on the trail. The magnet will get dirty and half of the holding strength will go away.

“Got a hollow crank spindle collecting mud?”

Now you can also have an expensive tool rusting in there with the mud.

This won’t stay in if you have a titanium or alloy spindle, will it?
