The German urban bike specialists at Schindelhauer have created a very limited edition version of their belt-drive Hektor fixed gear criterium bike, as raced by their team over the last year. Limited to just 20 framesets painted in special team gray & blue colors, the aero shaped aluminum track frame and carbon fork are something of a thanks for the team’s success. Retailing for the same price as the standard frames, 100€ from the sale of each of the Hektor Team Edition bikes will go straight back into funding the team as it heads out to another year of racing. Take a closer look at the bike & pricing after the break…
The Schindelhauer x Gates team made a big push in their expansion into international crit competition in 2016, after having been established just a year before. Now to commemorate their success and to encourage them ahead of another race season, the Hektor Team Edition offers fixed gear crit riders the chance to roll in the same style as their team.
The Hektor Team starts off with the same triple-butted, aero-shaped 6061 aluminum tubing as the stock Hektors, with its steep 74.5° head angle, tight 390mm chainstays, and overall short wheelbase.
The frame incorporates Schindelhauer’s unique split horizontal fork ends for belt-drive setups and their crocodile belt-tensioning system that works with a toothed lock washer on the axle to make it simple to dial in the perfect high tensions for smooth Gates operation.
The Hektor Team uses a track spaced 120mm rear end and gets paired with the same 1.125″ straight bladed carbon fork (with alloy steerer). Claimed weights are 1670g for frame & 690g for the fork.
Besides team gray and blue, the rear end of the bike gets a subtle array of small reflective Schindelhauer logo graphics, plus the standard frame logos that all light up for nighttime riding and racing. Available in four sizes from a small 53cm up to an extra large 62cm, the frameset sells for 795€ direct from Schindelhauer, while the limited numbers last.
