We’ve seen a couple of clean & simple bike storage solutions before from the folks at Cycloc before, and have actually played with their current pedal based wall hanging system – the Hero – a bit. While the Hero was designed to accommodate large platform pedals and to hang your more complicated full-suspension bikes, a lot of buyers appreciated the minimal design and used the Hero for XC bikes and road bikes. But with smaller pedals the system was a bit less secure, and for riders with Speedplay pedals there wasn’t enough to hold onto at all. So Cycloc went back to the drawing board, reworked a new Super Hero designed just for small pedals, and is bringing it to market care of Kickstarter…

The Super Hero was a direct response to consumer response that wanted to use their pedal based Hero design with smaller clipless road & mountain pedals, and the notoriously small but popular Speedplay Zero. So Cycloc pared the Hero down, trimming about 3.5cm off of the pedal hook, and have designed a special snap-in-place insert to securely hold the small round pedal body of Speedplays.

The new Super Hero shares the same form as the existing version, but requires new molds for the 100% polypropylene hanger, which is why Cycloc has taken to crowdsourcing to accelerate its path to market. And essentially with the Kickstarter specials, it means you can preorder one now at 10% off of retail in what should be a pretty safe bet for delivery slated for August-September of this year.

Kickstarter backers can support the campaign for £30 to get a new Super Hero including the new Speedplay plate when they become available in one of three available colors – red, white, or black. Several other options offer more discounts if you want to buy more, or even some exclusive options to get a personalized plaque on your hanger and some ears to hang your medals.

clever way to store a bike, but uhh, a few pieces of painted scrap 2×4 or similar would work for this and wouldnt cost anywhere near 40$!!

Time vs money: there are plenty of people who are more likely to have the $40 to spend than have the time or tools to put together something like this on their own.

keep in mind that for spending 40$, you need to earn at least 80$ and i’m conservative; so it’s the time to earn 80$, not 40 …
