Product demos are a great way to try out a new product. You get to try whatever it is first hand and get a real feel for how it works with your riding style. But they’re also usually on a set schedule, on a specific trail, and usually not on your own bike. We say usually, because SR Suntour’s new DTYD program seems to change all that. DTYD, or Demo To Your Door, allows you to test one of 5 different forks on your home trails and on your bike. Best of all, it’s completely free…

Qualifying forks for the DTYD Program:

  • AURON RC2 PCS 15Qlc2 27.5-29”
  • AURON RC2 PCS 15Qlc2 650B+
  • DUROLUX R2C2 PCS 20Qlc2 27.5
  • DUROLUX R2C2 PCS 15Qlc2 27.5
  • RUX R2C2 PCS T 27.5

The program works like this: after calling SR Suntour, they’ll walk you through the process and get you set up with the best fork for your riding and even tune it for you and your riding preferences. You put down a deposit on the fork, and SR Suntour ships it straight to your door along with everything needed including a shock pump and headset spacers (steerer is pre-cut with starnut installed). From that point, you have three weeks to ride it on your favorite trails. After three weeks is up, you can either return it to SR Suntour (they cover the shipping) and the deposit is fully refunded, or you can choose to purchase the fork after the demo period with the deposit applied to a new fork. The only catch seems to be that it’s only available to North American customers and supplies are limited. But if you’re looking to upgrade the fork on your bike, it seems like a pretty good way to get some time on a product that may just surprise you.

I think that is a great idea that not enough will take advantage of.

Hey thanks.

We think so too. Hope to get a lot more people out on our higher end forks this way and get the word out that SR SUNTOUR makes some pretty awesome products.

Feel free to email me with any questions.

Cheers.

This sounds awesome!!! I saw some other brands attempt this but it had you the customer pay for everything up front with some serious stipulations as to if you would get your money back if you didn’t like the product.

Hats off to Suntour here though. It looks like they are getting pretty serious about their higher end forks and that is going to spell trouble for some of the smaller brands like Manitou, X-fusion and maybe even shake things up for some of the other brands. They’ll never be a direct competitor with Fox and RS just from an image perspective but I would bet with these newer forks they are probably 99% as good.

I’m going to reach out and get my hands on one of the RUX’s if they are still available.

Awesome idea from someone in their marketing department. This is thinking well outside the box!

Thanks for the kind words and yes, there will always be those riders that want to ride what is thought by the general public as the best products even though there are some other really good options available.

Looking forward to shipping you a RUX.

Cheers.

This is so totally Rad and a brilliant idea.

Not long ago I was at a demo event and all the bikes like Santa Cruz, Pivot, Ibis and the like were out of bikes to ride.

I stumbled into Suntour’s tent and was going to ride a bike until I saw they had the lamest bikes ever to ride. No offense but Marin just inst what I’d be trying to use to get people on my products. Lame. The mechanic in the booth must be so busy all day. (deleted)

With this I can totally ride my bike (Speci Enduro) with their products. That is a pretty rad idea and good on them for coming up with something unique and different. I’m gonna check this out.
