Anyone under 24 years old rides for free at Levis Gran Fondo charity bike ride

It started with supporting at-risk youth and providing cycling opportunities for more kids. Then they hosted kids from the NorCal High School League on the ride. Now, they’ve opened it up to anyone under 24 to come along on Levi’s Gran Fondo for free. It’s all in an effort to get more kids on bike rides and ensure the future health of our sport. And its thanks in part to their partnership with Specialized through 2019. Interested? Sign up soon, tell all your friends, and just make sure you’ve got a parent or guardian to sign your waiver onsite if you’re under 18. Under 15? Just make sure a parent is riding with you. Other than that, there’s no restrictions. Full details here.

Not spesh haters… Hopefully doping Levi haters.

I want to be a hater, but that’s actually just a nice thing for Specialized to do. Glad they’re doing it. We need more kids cycling, not more old dudes like me.

I think it’s pretty cool of Spesh, Levi is a doping jerk. I can not support him in any way. I wish he would go away, he is not a roll model for kids.

It’s great that big S is doing things to help get kids riding, but a Levi event!?

I guess you’ve gotta get em young if you want riders to follow the Belgian “vitamin” injection schedule.

As long as the bike industry continues to endorse and support dirty riders, they’re part of the problem…..so boo to Levi Dopeheimer, and boo to Specialized for supporting his ride.

I think this is a great thing for the young riders that take advantage of it. Who cares what they naysayers think. While they’re busy pissing on everything that doesn’t suit their narrow vision, others can offer a helping hand.

I think Spec is great for supporting young riders this way, but why not do it through a none doping rider. When management realizes that there is no public support for dopers, and levi is one of the biggest dopers to ever ride a bike, then maybe they will stop paying lip service to ending doping in the peloton and actually do it.
