It’s not often that Chris King has a new product, but new colors? That’s a different story. Continuing their trend towards limited edition colors of the matte variety, Chris King himself was on hand at Eurobike to show off their new Matte Punch color along with the rest of their product line.

Expect it to show up as likely a preorder this winter, replacing the limited edition Matte Emerald that was shown at NAHBS.

Why matter with external headsets anyway? They are almost disapearing for good much like the front detailleur on mountain bikes.

Why matter? Because there are still a lot of bikes–custom bikes, Ti, steel, and aluminum bikes–out there that require these headsets. There are still bikes being made that use these headsets.

Yup, tons of handmade bikes are still being made with these. And the replacement market is totally worth the effort, even though these things practically last forever.
