Another fork manufacturer has jumped into the gravel suspension world. This time, it’s MRP with their new Baxter suspension fork.

Based on the Loop chassis, the Baxter runs 40mm of suspension with 32mm stanchions. Tire clearance is said to be 700c x 40mm, or 650b x 63mm, so it may not fit the biggest 700c tires, but it has plenty of room when it comes to 650b. Fitted with a 3 position compression adjuster, the Baxter also has a unique thru axle system that can run 12 or 15mm thru axles on the same fork lower, just with different axles. To be available in black or white for $799.95, the 3.4lb/1.54kg fork should ship by the first of the year (UPDATED) by end of October 2017.

Part of a growing trend of ditching the quick release thru axle in favor of something tooled, MRP was also showing their new Race Axles. Available in multiple sizes and thread pitches to fit 12×142, 12×148, and 12x157mm dropouts, the axles will be offered in standard and X12 Syntace style heads for $39.95 or $44.95 respectively. Claimed weights are 36-46g depending on the size. Available now.

An allen wrench fits perfectly in a rolled up tube. There is no time lost.

Weird they called their gravel fork Baxter when there’s already a gravel / adventure bike called Baxter, also from Colorado. Is there a trail / route up there called Baxter?
