What’s worse than getting a flat? Getting a flat on your commute to work, making you late (and frustrated) in the process. Vittoria’s new Urban Tech series of tires aims to prevent that from happening – and if it does? You’ll be eligible for their Commuter Guarantee which promises free tubes* (*if tire is purchased before the end of 2017 from a bike shop, and the same shop installs the tire).
Offered on the new Vittoria Randonneur, Adventure, Trail, and Revolution Tech (from left to right, above), the four new tires form their new Urban Tech series.
Each tire is outfitted with their Solid Shielding or Double Shielding in the case of the Randonneur Tech, which should cut down on most punctures. The Solid Shielding uses a thick natural rubber layer (red section above) under the tread while the Double Shielding uses a layer of PRB Breaker plus a layer of high density rubber for even greater protection.
While the Graphene compound will allow for better rolling and wear, the G+ Isotech tires are also eBike compatible meaning they’re designed to withstand the added torque of eBike motors. As they are commuter tires, each also has a reflective stripe around the sidewall.
Available in sizes from 20″ to 700c depending on the model, each tire carries a $35 retail price and are available now.
Fans of the original Pave should also be pretty happy to see the tire making a comeback – but as the new Corsa Control. Built with a 320tpi corespun k cotton casing with a kevlar reinforcement, the tire will only be available in 700c x 28mm with Graphene 4c compound and a claimed weight of 280g.
Adding to their growing line of mountain bike tires, Vittoria is adding a bunch of models in both 2.6 and 2.8″ widths. The new sizes will be found on the Mezcal, Morsa, Martello, and Barzo.
Not all tires will be offered in all sizes however – check the charts above for available sizes and models.
