Cane Creek has already made the jump to Coil Creek for the month of November, but it’s looking like their coil-itis might be contagious. Along with their current air sprung version, Zerode recently announced a new Cane Creek edition of their novel Taniwha gear box enduro bike.
Instead of a traditional drivetrain, the Taniwha makes use of the Pinion C1.12 gearbox which is built into the carbon frame offering a 600% gear range. To offer the “ultimate enduro weapon,” there will be two Cane Creek builds – the Performance and Signature editions.
Both versions are available in your choice of Air or Coil. The Air version uses the Cane Creek Helm Air and the DB Air IL rear shock, while the Coil version is of course the Helm Coil and a DB Coil IL shock. The biggest difference between the two build levels is the addition of extra carbon for the Signature build with Industry Nine Pillar Carbon rims, Magura MT Trail Carbon brakes, and a Syntace Vector Carbon bar.
Available only with 27.5″ wheels and tires, the frame and gearbox set is priced at $6,000, while the complete Performance build runs $8,500 and the Signature build bumps up the price to $10,000. Both are available for pre-orders now.
