Whether you are a roadie or mountain biker, riding in the Northern Hemisphere means fighting to keep your feet warm & dry in your cycling shoes this time of year. If you are dedicated to pedaling year round Gaerne has your toes covered with their G.Winter Road & G.Winter MTB Gore-Tex winter boots.
G.Winter Road Gore-Tex cold, wet weather cycling shoes
While Gaerne’s G.Winter cycling shoes haven’t changed that much over the years, they continue to offer a solid platform for winter training. The Road version of the cold & wet weather boots shares the same sealed Gore-Tex lined upper as the MTB shoes, but features the most recent carbon reinforced nylon road sole that Gaerne has to offer – the same EPS Carbon Power sole found on their affordable Tornado & Motion road shoes. Its low profile is designed to give road cyclists a low stack height, even for winter training for a connected feel to the pedals, and good power transfer.
G.Winter MTB Gore-Tex cold, wet weather cycling shoes
For cold riding off-road, the G.Winter MTB shoes use Gaerne’s new fiberglass-reinforced nylon lugged MTB 3Density sole that we saw on their new G.Sincro+ shoes to balance stiffness and flexibility for hike-a-bikes.
The shared G.Winter upper uses a wide, velcro-secured neoprene cuff & tongue that hides lacing with a locking closure. Besides the full Gore-Tex membrane liner, the boots also feature reflective detailing all around the synthetic upper. The boots also include an aluminum lined insole to help retain heat as you ride through the winter.
Both on & off-road versions of the waterproof G.Winter boots retail for the same 230€ pricetag.
