Ready to tackle the road less traveled? So is ENVE. Jumping into the world of purpose built gravel components, the new M525 G combines the best of their new M-Series MTB carbon rim design with builds meant for a road bike. While they’ll still be offering the CX Disc wheelset for cross applications, the M525 G is better suited to gravel builds with a wider internal width and better pinch flat resistance.
That’s all thanks to the M525 rim which is the same as used on their XC wheelsets. Offered in 650b or 700c diameters, the rims have a 25mm internal width and a hookless bead. Part of their new rim design, the rim profile itself is claimed to provide a 60% improvement in pinch flat resistance – which becomes very important on skinny(ish) gravel tires.
To configure them for the road, the wheels are sold with either DT Swiss 240 Centerlock or Chris King R45 Centerlock hubs with options for 12 x 100 or 15 x 100 front and 12 x 142mm rear thru axles. The 24 spoke wheels also include options of Shimano or SRAM XD freehubs, and eight decal colors to match your ride. Built with DT Swiss 240 hubs and 700c rims, the wheelset has a claimed weight of 1368g and a price of $2800 which includes ENVE’s 5 year warranty and Lifetime Product Guarantee.
