About once a year Paul Component Engineering dips their broad catalog of alloy components into a fresh anodizing bath to create a unique, limited time finish. Following up on last year’s Blues, Paul is now flashing back to the 80s & 90s to bring some retro bling with a new Gold look.
Limited Edition Gold aluminum components from Paul
Paul Components says it was the matching gold kit of BMX bikes in the 1980s and anniversary edition Campagnolo groupsets that inspired this year’s limited edition color choice. They apparently were playing with shiny gold ano parts recently for their own in-house custom builds, and “they looked SO HOT we just had to share it as an option with the rest of the world.”
Now for the next 10 months you can order most of their Made-in-USA aluminum components in limited ‘Gold 2018’. That includes stems, seatposts, brake levers & calipers, seat collars, axles, and QR hubs. (As you can see, that color matches well to a Gold headset from White Industries to complete your bling bike overhaul.)
The limited edition kit is available wherever you get Paul goodies, through your local bike shop or even direct from the Paul Comp website. Everything is machined in their Chico, CA shop. Most of the more common parts will be kept in stock, but some will need to get made to order so allow up to 4-6 weeks for the special anodizing and delivery. Quoting Paul, “Just remember, ‘Nothing gold can stay‘…”
