After putting Koroyd honeycomb protection on mountain biker’s heads with the MT500, Endura is expanding their helmet line up for both road & trail. The new Pro SL adapts that same unique tech for roadies, while new FS260-Pro & SingleTrack helmets offer more traditional protection at affordable prices.
Pro SL Koroyd protected road helmet
The new Pro SL helmet uses a full Koroyd core to bring the honeycomb-shaped materials energy absorption capabilities to the road bike.
With that comes lightweight thanks to the unique construction, plus good ventilation and heat escape due to the open protection design, beyond what is said to be superior head protection.
The Pro SL matches the safety of the MT500 which Endura said targeted the same Koroyd-inspired goal of significantly reducing peak accelerations during the CE certification test.
Koroyd says that the European standard could have a 40% risk of a skull fracture at the allowable certification threshold, and their target is knocking that risk down to 5% at the same impact levels.
The Pro SL features large vent openings on all sides and Koroyd cells open in all directions away from the wearer’s head. The helmet is available in three sizes and gets an easy-to-use micro-adjust dial fit system. An open eyewear dock upfront allows you to stick your shades in, unobstructed by the Koroyd.
And it gets an open fast-wicking mesh set of pads.
The 238g helmet comes in white w/ green, black w/ less green & hi-viz blue to match the 2018 Movistar Team kit – and retails for £150 in three sizes. It also comes with a 90-day no questions asked satisfaction guarantee, like the rest of their Pro SL kit.
FS260-Pro conventional EPS road bike helmet
The FS260-Pro is a more conventional EPS design but comes in at an exceptionally light 210g (for an M/L, <200g for S). It features large, open vents, internal airflow channels and reflective rear detailing.
The £90 road helmet features a dial adjust closure, fast wicking pads, and an anti-bug mesh option. The FS260-Pro comes in white, hi-viz green & black, and in three sizes.
SingleTrack conventional EPS mountain bike helmet
The new £75 SingleTrack II helmet is a similar lightweight option for the trail rider. Pulling lessons learned from their more expensive mountain bike lids, the SingleTrack is fully reborn with lightweight in-mould EPS construction, and enduro focused design features.
That includes larger vents and an air scoop up top (that doubles as an accessory mount), linked to deep internal ventilation channels. It gets the same one-handed dial closure as the road helmets. Plus the trail focused helmet includes a goggle-friendly adjustable visor, and more, lower protection at the back of the head. The SingleTrack II comes in three sizes and white, petrol blue & black.
All three helmets are covered by Endura’s Crash Replacement Policy and are certified to CE testing standards.
