Working with Apple, Rapha has designed a limited edition range of bags to haul your fancy Cupertino-designed electronics in Rapha style on & off the bike. ENVE at the other extreme has paired up with Mission Workshop to create a hip pack to keep mountain bikers’ essentials close at hand. Lastly, Restrap has overhauled their drybags thanks to some new machines in-house to make them even more waterproof…

Rapha bags for Apple electronics, now in the Apple Store

The limited edition Rapha for Apple bags will only be sold direct from Apple, and only for a brief four-week window. Inspired by the bags and Brevet accessories already in the Rapha catalog, the Rapha x Apple collaboration takes that style to protect your expensive electronics. The limited edition lineup includes a range of bags to haul iPhones, iPads & MacBooks on and off the bike. The most bike-centric is the $130 Mini Messenger bag is worn either as an over the shoulder bag to carry phone and key essentials, or can be clipped onto the toptube of your bike.

The padded Convertible Tote/Backpack at $150 protects notebooks or tablets inside and is (as the name suggests) carried either with tote bag straps or the backpack straps.

On top of those, there are $65-70 padded sleeves sized for various iPad Pros, MacBooks & MacBook Pros, plus a smaller $50 Tech Organizer kit with mesh internal pockets to keep cables & chargers organized on the go.

All of the Rapha for Apple bags are available in classic Rapha colors of black+gray, navy+pink & chartreuse yellow+gray, and feature reflective accents reminiscent of Brevet gear. Get it all from the Apple Store from now through July 12.

ENVE x Mission Workshop hip pack

The Enve x Mission Workshop Hip Pack was developed for trail riders looking to carry just the essentials in a light bag, without the need for a bigger hydration pack. Essentially a standard Axis pack out of Mission’s catalog, Enve packs their version out with a few core essentials that makes your ride prep simple.

Enve’s version of the Hip Pack includes a 27.5 or 29″ spare tube (you pick the size at checkout) protected inside an Enve-branded ‘Tubesock’, plus it features a Enve-branded tool holster that includes the newest FIXmfg compact WheelieWrench multi-tool.

Designed for fast, typically shorter rides, the $160 Hip Pack is made from weatherproof coated nylon with a total hauling capacity of 2.5l. It sits low on the waist, and should stay put thanks to a wide waist belt. It even includes a laser cut back panel that makes it possible to add additional straps or to join it to Mission’s other Archiv-compatible packs.

Restrap’s new & improved waterproof, roll-top Dry Bags

From the outside you won’t notice much different on Restrap’s new & improved Dry Bags. It’s inside what counts. Thanks to a new seam-sealing machine the new bags the roll out of the shop in the coming weeks will offer 100%, dip your bikepacking bike in the river waterproofing.

We’ve had gear (including a laptop) stay dry in the rain with the previous bags, so these should mean business. Expect the pricing to continue to be hard to beat – like the current £10/~ 8 liter single roll bag, and £13 /~ 14 liter double roll bag.

The Rapha bag just acts as a neon sign for a bike thief to follow you to the coffee shop where he’ll wait to steal the bag the moment your distracted while his crackhead friend is outside cutting the lock on your $3000 Rapha branded fixie with Enve wheels.

Because Rapha and Apple have identified the suckers who will pay a premium for their brands, they collaborate to milk a little more from their customer bases. Such perfect synchronicity.

Looks like Enve isn’t satisfied to just sell high end wheels, they want in on the high margin accessories market.
