If you’ve been waiting for a plus sized version of CushCore, the time is now. In a move that makes a lot of sense, CushCore now has a 27.5+ version of their foam “Inner-Tire suspension system” to work with a number of plus bikes on the market.
Using the same closed cell foam that won’t absorb any tire sealant or other liquids, the liner is designed to fit inside the wider rims and tires associated with 27.5+. Like the other CushCore systems, they claim that the 27.5+ version works as an inner-tire suspension system with the tire and air acting as the air spring, and the CushCore liner acting as the damper.
Of course, the liner also helps protect the rim during harsh impacts while also supporting the sidewalls allowing for running lower pressures. Meant to work with 27.5 x 2.6-3.0″ tires, the plus liners check in at 290g per wheel and sell for $149 per set which includes tubeless tire valves. Look for these to hit store shelves any day now – though they’re available for pre-order now.
