Easton has a couple new key technologies in their latest affordable EC carbon & EA alloy series of seatposts and stems. With a new ISA seatpost head clamping mechanism, Easton offers improved security and easier saddle adjustment. And for the stems, overall performance updates are topped off by a new integrated ICM out-front mount for your Garmin GPS cycling computer.
Easily adjustable Easton EC70 SL & EA90 ISA seatposts
The highlight of Easton’s two new seatposts is the new Independent Saddle Adjustment system. The alloy ISA clamping heads that both carbon & alloy posts share allows for totally independent fore-aft adjustment and saddle angle adjustment. Round saddle rails are held in place with a bolt from either side much like a single bolt clamping mechanism, but then a pair of forward facing bolts allow you to separately adjust saddle tilt, also preventing accidental slippage like a two-bolt style clamp.
Easton EC70 SL & EA90 ISA post Spec Details & Pricing
The new EC70 SL ISA seatpost features a matte black UD carbon shaft and a matching matte black ano aluminum independent seat angle adjustment head. The alloy head is available with either a no-offset or a 20mm offset clamp.
The EC70 SL comes only in 27.2mm diameter & 350mm length (with 80mm minimum insertion.) A no-setback carbon post has a claimed weight of 210g, and a setback post a weight of 223g.
The aluminum variant the EA90 ISA post is available in the same sizes and options, but bonds an alloy shaft to the same alloy ISA head. The zero offset EA90 post has a claimed weight of 259g, or 268g for the 20mm offset version.

New alloy Easton EA stems with integrated ICM Garmin GPS mount
Easton’s EA series alloy stems are a no-nonsense component that just does what it needs to do – transferring bar inputs into steering precision. For 2019 the 3D forged aluminum stems get larger diameters for extra stiffness and weight savings thanks to refined alloys.
But the other big functional update is the Integrated Computer Mount that gives them the ICM designation. The custom plastic mount puts your Garmin computer perfectly aligned out front where it is easy to see, with marginally improved aerodynamics, and the ability to adjust the angle of your GPS display.
Easton EA90, EA70 & EA50 ICM stem Spec Details & Pricing
The matte black anodized EA90 alloy ICM stem is available in 0° & 7° rise variants and 10mm length increments from 70-130mm, all for 31.8mm bars & 1.125″ steerer tubes. Retail price is $100 including the ICM mount. A zero-rise 100mm stem has a claimed weight of 120g.
Also in matte black ano, the EA70 ICM stem comes in 70-120mm lengths and the same 0° or 7° rise. The $65 alloy EA70 ICM stems weigh 132g for a 100mm x 0° (140g for 100mm x 7°), with the faceplate mount sold separately.
The most affordable of the new alloy ICM stems, the EA50 sells for just $40, again without the faceplate mount. It is available in +/- 7° or 17° variants and 70-120mm lengths. The EA50 ICM in 100mm x 7° has a claimed weight of 142g.
The matte black ABS plastic ICM faceplate mount itself sells separately for $20, is compatible with Garmin computer mounts, and weighs just 12g. It is designed to work with the new EA90, EA70 & EA50 ICM stems.
