Commencal’s newest alloy Meta AM enduro 29er debuted this summer, and now it gets a new for 2019 limited SRAM Edition. Recognizing the deep connection between Commencal racing teams & SRAM mountain bike race support, the new bike build gets a more pure SRAM & RockShox spec, even coming with a slightly lower price than the similar Team build.

Not to be confused with the very similar looking Meta AM v4.2 that sports 27.5″ wheels, the new Meta AM 29 inherits big wheeled, gravity shredding capabilities from Commencal’s Supreme DH 29er in this latest wagon-wheeled shredder.
Meta AM 29 Tech Details
Big wheels plow through gnarly enduro tracks, so modern trail geometry gives the Meta AM 29 plenty of descending prowess. The long, low & slack frame features a 65.5° headtube, effectively steep seattube, and super tight 432mm chainstays that are actually shorter than the 27.5 Metas. The 160mm of faux-bar, single-pivot travel frame pairs with 170mm of fork travel for the aggressive 29er.
The new special SRAM Edition bike retails for $3800 / 3700€, just about a hundred bucks less than the Team replica complete.
If you want to pick your own SRAM build, a 1300€ frame (without shock) is available in Commencal’s à la carte customizer program.
The complete build includes the alloy 29er frame with a RockShox Super Deluxe RCT air shock and a Lyrik RC2 fork. Drivetrain is all SRAM too, with a complete GX Eagle 1×12 setup, Descendant Eagle alloy cranks & Code R 200mm brakes.
Then top off the SRAM kit with a RockShox Reverb dropper post. Alloy cockpit kit is supplied by Commencal’s house brand Ride Alpha, with wheel/tires by Spank Oozy 350, Formula & Schwalbe.
The SRAM Edition bike is supposed to be available in all sizes, but from what we see it is currently limited to just three sizes (M, L & XL), with Feb 2019 availability expected.
