Reader Robert Cauthorn sent in this photo of his ride a while back, heading up “the cliff road en route to Col du Solude, outside of Bourg d’Oisan, a delicious road along a cliff, leading to gravel at the top” in the French Alps. Besides the scenic cliffside, overhangs & view over to Alpe d’Huez along the route, there are also a number of long dark tunnels. Don’t forget your headlight!
