You won’t find many of 7mesh’s products carrying over from one year to the next, because ‘good enough’ isn’t good enough for their designers – They’d rather offer improved versions of their pieces for each new season. Recently they announced the men’s MK3 bibshorts and shorts, which are an update on their outgoing MK2’s.
Designed for all types of riding, the MK3’s are made with a new body fabric that offers more compression yet maintains excellent breathability and moisture management. The new MK3’s also provide more wear resistance against saddles and Velcro saddlebag straps. The legs are finished with a streamlined raw edge hem and silicone printed grippers, and long-stretch straps provide a snug fit while minimizing shoulder fatigue. The MK3 bibs and shorts feature 7mesh’s Hybrid Cell System (HCS) chamois. Their Clean Finish construction eliminates chafe points and leaves the chamois pad floating on a hammock-like base for ultimate comfort. The MK3 bibshorts sell for $200, and the shorts retail at $150.
ZOIC Carbon Bib Liner
Aimed at enduro racers or bikepackers, ZOIC’s men’s Carbon Bib Liners were made to provide comfort and support for long days in the saddle. The brushed elastic bib straps are seamless over the shoulders, and an Italian-made triple density stretch foam chamois offers firm support for lengthy rides.
The Carbon Bib Liners’ three-pocket Back Pack flap carries larger items like water bottles and tools just above the waistline, and there’s a small zippered back pocket for carrying cards, keys or cash. Two Gunslinger pockets on the legs keep energy gels or bars within reach. Last but not least, ZOIC’s Quick-Relief fly makes ‘watering trees’ at the trailside an easy process. MSRP is $100.
SCICON X-Over bib short
SCICON’s X-Over bibshorts were designed to provide a race fit and high-performance features for road or off-road riders. With input from ASG Bike Science, SCICON’s Power Mititech panels are strategically placed to provide 4-way compression to select muscle groups, helping reduce rider fatigue. The shorts’ main body fabric wicks moisture, dries quickly, and remains durable while feeling soft to the touch.
The X-Over shorts feature SCICON’s EIT (Elastic Interface Technology) signature chamois , which was designed to maintain comfort throughout longer rides. Textured carbon grippers and 4-way compression legs keep the shorts in position and offer a thin, streamlined fit. Men’s and women’s models of SCICON’s X-Over bibshorts are available for $299.
2019 MAAP / Suplest EDGE 3 Pro Road shoe
Australian clothing company MAAP and Swiss shoemakers Suplest have released another collaboration shoe for 2019. Last year Bikerumor checked out their 2018 Edge 3 road shoe, but the 2019 version comes in two new colorways. This year they’re offering a White/Navy model and a flashy Coral/Navy option.
The men’s Pro Road Shoe’s uppers are made from heat-welded microfiber, and use dual Boa closures with a carbon shield that helps distribute pressure from the cables. Solestar insoles provide stability and comfort while you put the power down on ultra-stiff, full carbon outsoles. The 2019 MAAP / Suplest collaboration shoe is available now online and in select retail stores. A pair sells for 349€/$390.
BH Evo and EVO Sock shoes
As the name suggests BH’s Evo Sock shoe aims to deliver a seamless, sock-like fit. Their foot-hugging form distributes pressure evenly, and offers excellent freedom of motion. The material that makes up the sock portion extends from the toe cover to the ankle, and is highly breathable to improve overall ventilation. The snug-fitting top cuff also keeps dirt and water out while you ride.
The Evo shoe’s construction is similar to the Evo Sock model, but their synthetic leather uppers offer a more traditional low-profile cut without the sock component. Both models feature ventilated carbon soles with anti-slip patches to help keep your cleats mounted securely. Dual Boa dials ensure a precise fit, and anti-slip fabric in the heels keep your soles glued down. The men’s Evo and Evo Sock shoes are available now online or at BH dealers.
