Component manufacturer Pacenti has announced two new aluminum MTB rims to complement their lines of road, MTB, and gravel components. The latest offerings include XC/Trail and Trail/Enduro sets. Each is designed to be lightweight, offer lower stress at the spoke nipple seat, and simplify tire mounting.
Tech overview – The latest changes at Pacenti
Each of their new 6069 T9 aluminum rims has a convex spoke bed which claims to reduce stress at the spoke nipple seat by 65%. They also made the tire wells deeper and wider to make tubeless tire mounting easier. Each model is tubeless ready with hookless beads and a welded construction.
Hitting the trails – 29er
The I25-TXC is their XC/Trail rim that offers a 25mm internal and 27.9mm external rim width, along with a low profile 15.4mm height. The $140 rim set weighs in at 415g and they recommend using a 29 x 1.8-2.4″ tire. Its convex spoke bed has 28h in front and 32h for the rear.
The Enduro rim – 27.5 & 29er
Their I30-END is their Trail/Enduro option. It has a 30mm internal and 33mm external width. Its low profile design has it standing 15.4mm and it’s milled with 24h in the front and 32h in the rear. The 27.5 set weighs in at 450g while the 29er option is 470g. The $140 Enduro rim recommends tires from 2.1-2.6″ wide.
