British bike company Orro has released a new, more affordable version of their top-tier carbon Venturi STC aero road bike. Promising the same look, feel & performance out of the same mold, an all-new UD carbon layup delivers the new Orro Venturi Evo with a complete 105 disc brake groupset for just £100 more than their original frameset alone…
2020 Orro Venturi Evo affordable carbon aero road bike
Building on the success of their aero road Venturi STC, the new 2020 Venturi Evo inherits all of the same fit & features of the original with a revised carbon layup to cut costs. The new Evo frame is composed of more affordable fibers, three different types of UD carbon vs. the UK-made “spread tow carbon” that gives the STC its name. Orro doesn’t specify weights of the STC or Evo models, but presumably this lower-cost model will add a couple hundred grams overall, while striking a balance for a “perfect blend of comfort and stiffness”.
Orro Venturi Evo – Tech details
The Evo version shares the same aero road focus as the original STC frameset, with aero details like the shaped fork to downtube transition, hourglass headtube, rear wheel cutout, dropped seatstays, hidden seatpost clamp & the same proprietary aero seatpost as the original. The classic road design keeps to a max of 28mm tires with flat mount disc brakes & 12mm thru-axles with removable Switch levers.
Venturi Evo – Pricing & availability
The core goal of the Evo version is affordability, and the Orro Venturi Evo is available exclusively in one glossy gray complete build with a full Shimano 105 R7020 hydraulic disc brake, mechanical shift groupset for £2100, just one hundred pounds more that the STC frameset alone.
Coming out of the same mold, the Venturi Evo uses the same road race geometry as the original Venturi, available in four stock frame sizes (S-XL).
Orro bikes are available in-store though a number of UK ‘Signature Shops’, as well as consumer direct internationally through a number of big online retailers.
