YT Industries has kicked off 2020 with spec updates and a flashier new look across their entire mountain bike line, from the popular all-mountain Jeffsy to World Cup racing Tues DH, even the back-flipping Dirt Love. Besides new colors there just to look cool, all the latest trail bikes get real functional drivetrain & component upgrades. And YT is even teasing some new bikes to come.

Sure, most of what you can actually notice as new here is just that shiny Twotone Blue paint job on the alloy bikes, and a few less saturated Titan Silver, Ghostship Green & Dune Grey color schemes to go with basic Black Magic (these colors spread across the new lines, depending on model & spec level). But there are also a number of new component spec updates too, bringing 12-speed to more riders with both SRAM Eagle & Shimano’s latest drivetrains.

2020 Jeffsy 140/150/160mm 29″ or 27.5″ all-mountain bike

The popular Jeffsy all-mountain bike just got a major update last winter. And while there must have been some issue with Christopher Walken’s endorsement (since that wild video is no longer online), the bike in carbon or alloy is YT’s best seller. Build updates for Jeffsy just include a move to all 2020 models getting SRAM Eagle 12sp drivetrain, and now also more grippy Maxxis Minion tires whether you pick 27.5 or a 29er.

One thing you don’t get to pick now is an alloy bike. When the carbon bikes launched last year (now 3000€ Comp, 3900€ Pro & 5300€ Pro Race), the more affordable aluminum bikes just carried over the previous generation geometry. But now 2020 is expected to update the alloy Jeffsy Base. We just don’t know yet when?

2020 Capra 170/180mm 29″ or 27.5″ enduro bike

The Capra got its update a year earlier as the Return of the Goat, and again 2020 updates are minor. All Capras also now get full SRAM Eagle drivetrains. The carbon bikes sell for 3200€ Comp, 4000€ Pro & 5500€ Pro Race, but here you can already pick up a 2300€ Capra Base alloy model that still gets SX Eagle.

2020 Tues 170/180mm 29″ or 27.5″ downhill bike

The World Cup DH racing & winning Tues family has been around for a decade now. Last winter a carbon 29er was added, alloy 27.5 bikes the year before. The YT Mob will still be racing the Tues this season, while you can pick it up in the new 2020 colors. Will a 2800€ aluminum 29er of the DH bike debut this year? We can’t confirm.

2020 Decoy 165mm carbon mullet e-enduro e-bike

Last spring saw YT launch their first e-bike, the monster Shimano Step-powered e-enduro Decoy 29/27.5″ mullet. The Decoy so far only offers the 5000€ Comp with a carbon front/alloy rear triangle and the full carbon 6600€ Pro Race, although this season they get updated with new Shimano SLX & XT mechanical 1×12 drivetrains.

But will there be more eMTB options in 2020? Maybe a more affordable all-alloy option? Or why did last year’s XT Di2 1×11 go away, maybe is there a new 12-speed Shimano Di2 waiting in the wings to take this e-bike even higher upmarket? The bike rumor has it that more than one extra Decoy e-bike model is coming in 2020. Could we see both more affordable & more premium models?

2020 Dirt Love steel dirt jump bike

2020 YT mountain bike updates

Last year YT brought back their love of dirt jumps with the Dirt Love reissue. The 26″ steel hardtail is pretty much unchanged for 2020, although a new year does tack on a hundred bones to the now 1400€ price tag. Better start learning tricks now before the price goes up again next year.
