Did watching astronauts Bob Behnken & Doug Hurley make their way to the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule make you think the new suit design would make an awesome cycling jersey? Want some cycling kit to help commemorate the historic event? Well, you’re in luck. Scicon Sports just introduced their Space Agency Capsule Collection which doesn’t specifically use any space agencies in their press materials, but there are some obvious inspirations here.
Part of a complete collection of jerseys, bibs, and socks, one jersey stands out thanks to the recently successful SpaceX launch. While Scicon makes no mention anywhere of any words related to SpaceX, the jersey clearly mimics the unique lines of their new launch and entry suits complete with the newly revived NASA ‘worm’ logo.
Along with the uh, not-SpaceX-but-SpaceX-jersey, there are a number of other jerseys mostly with the worm logo, but a few with the original ‘meatball’ logo as well. The jerseys are all based on the Scicon X-Over Road Cycling Jersey which is made in Italy with FteXHydro fabric with UV protection and micro perforated FtexNet inserts and a race fit. The jerseys use a full length zipper, elastic hem with silicone gripper, and three rear pockets.
All of the jerseys in the collection will sell for $90/€80. Note that some of these are offered in multiple colors other than shown as well.
The collection also includes a version of their X-Over Bib Short with a NASA logo on the leg. Designed to be a lightweight short at 245g, the bibs include an Italian Elastic Interface signature pad, 4 way compression Mititech Power fabrick and 75mm long leg grippers. These sell for $285/€249.
Last, you can’t be out there without matching socks so the collection includes four different styles to fit your needs. Each pair sells for $19/€16.
Everything is available now, and ships world wide.
