Developed as a mix of Nicolai’s gravity bike development & production capability, the latest premium eMTB tech from the HNF side, and all the details you could ask for in a city bike – the XF3 Adventure is an uncompromising commuter e-bike with full off-road capability and double the range of most e-bikes.
HNF-Nicolai XF3 Adventure eMTB urban commuter e-bike
The heart of the HNF-Nicolai XF3 Adventure e-bike is a 27.5″-wheeled trail-ready 7000-series aluminum full-suspension frame made-in-Germany by the TIG-welding experts from the Nicolai side of the HNF-Nicolai partnership – with 140mm of travel out back, slack geometry, and paired to a 160mm fork.
To move it forward, the latest gen4 Bosch Performance CX motor puts the power through an electronically-controlled Rohloff Speedhub 500 e14 internally geared hub, powered by a 1125Wh Bosch DualBattery setup – with a 25km/hr pedal-assist max speed. The XF3 Adventure pairs a 625Wh Bosch PowerTube battery inside the downtube, to a second PowerTube 500Wh battery inside the toptube for double the range you get out of most e-bikes.
Both can still be independently removed (so you could ride with just one to save weight) and can be fully charged in 3.7hr with the included Fast Charger.

The German-made Nicolai frame comes in three sizes M, L & XL to fit riders from 170cm and taller. The Bosch Performance CX, DualBattery powertrain connects to the Rohloff hub with a Gates CDX belt drive for quiet, reliable & maintenance-free power transfer. It uses the small Bosch Kiox display with wired remotes for both the pedal-assist & Rohloff controls, plus powerful connected Supernova StVZO LED lighting.
The matte black HNF-Nicolai XF3 Adventure eMTB is offered in a single complete e-bike build for 9995€ including VAT (9743€ in Germany at the moment thanks to reduced VAT) that would probably rival the cost of many a used SUV.
The urban eMTB gets a Cane Creek DBcoil iL coil shock paired to a RockShox Lyrik Select+ 160mm fork, Magura MT5 brakes, a BikeYoke Revive 2.0 dropper, Ergon saddle, VP platform pedals & 27.5×2.6″ Continental Der Baron Projekt ProTection Apex tires. It also features a set of full-coverage SKS Bluemels fenders, Racktime alloy rear rack, and a built-in kickstand to support its 32kg (70.5lb) total weight! when parked.
