Brooks’ latest Cambium C67 evolves their classic wide, sprung leather saddle design for a modern age into a new all-weather rubber saddle for the needs of e-bikers and urban commuters. The new comfort saddle is said to be inspired by the popular B67 design, but with the durability and low-maintenance benefits of their weatherproof natural rubber Cambium line-up, and almost half the weight of the original touring saddle…
Brooks Cambium C67 all-weather vegan commuter & e-bike saddle
The all-new Brooks Cambium C67 saddle is said to be targeted at e-bike riders. But it will likely appeal to anyone who appreciates the wide perch and movement of their classic sprung B67, without the maintenance requirements of natural leather. A perfect solution for the hard life of city bikes, touring, upright cruisers, and cargo bikes as well, the new C67 features an even-wider top of the notably flexible & comfortable Cambium rubber ‘hammock’ design, plus a raised rear area at the rivets for pedaling support.
Designed to ‘move with you’, the wide C67 also gets a new, deeply scalloped nose shape to give structure to the front of the rubber saddle for more stability while riding. With all-weather durability, modern cyclists can get the comfort of a classic Brooks design, even for those who don’t want to ride leather, have to worry about break-in periods, or to have such a heavy saddle.
Brooks Cambium C67 – Tech details
The 120€ saddle is constructed of the All-Weather variant of the Brooks Cambium line, combining the vulcanized natural rubber base with the UV & abrasion-resistant nylon reinforcement top layer. The saddle top is attached with aluminum rivets to glass-reinforced nylon nose & tail supports and a set of tubular steel rails.
That rubberized back plate / tail support also is said to offer a solid grip for picking up heavier e-bikes and cargo bikes. The 200mm wide x 268mm long Cambium C67 saddle has a claimed weight of 485g, making it 375g lighter than the slightly narrower, sprung leather B67.
Matching Ergonomic Rubber Grips
In addition to the new Cambium C67 saddle, Brooks has also added a new set of matching ergonomic vulcanized Cambium grips designed for upright riding. The 45€ Cambium Ergonomic Rubber Grips are said to be equally as durable and weatherproof, with flared palm support and variable rubber densities, and an alloy lock-on clamp.
