Few athletes ever hit the stratospheric stardom that Scotland’s Danny MacAskill has. His creativity on two wheels is second to none. Immediately springing to mind is his Ghostie Bike Flip featured in The Gymnasium. No wonder then that brands are falling over themselves to decorate him in signature bikes, pedals and now, helmets. Enter the Danny MacAskill signature helmet; the Endura PissPot for street, skate park and trail riding.

Danny MacAskill’s signature Endura PissPot Helmet

The Endura PissPot is a versatile bike helmet, fashioned in a style that would look right at home on the ramps of your local skate park. The standout feature of Danny’s signature lid is the inclusion of a one hand micro adjustment fit system, often missing on this style of helmet.

The fit system will allow riders to really dial down the fit. Not only will it likely be more comfortable for it, Endura say it is safer as well. That’s why they are happy to recommend it as a mountain bike helmet too.

The PissPot has a lightweight in-mold construction with eight small vents plus internal air channels to direct air through the helmet. Resting on your head is antibacterial, fast-wicking, removable and washable padding.

The Endura PissPot is certified to CE Standard EN1078:2012 + A1:2012, which means it is acceptable for use on pedal cycles, skateboard and roller skates. Get it in sizes S/M and L/XL to fit head circumferences from 51cm to 63cm.

Danny MacAskill’s signature helmet colorway is blue. Endura also made a signature white colorway for Scottish BMX legend, Kriss Kyle – check out his insane drop from a helicopter here. Plus, there are non-signature sparkly Reflective Grey, Matt Black, and matte Forest Green colors, too.

I think the name comes from the quasi similar shape shared by old metal military helmets and the metal pots (chamber pots…in which they used to empty their bladders and/or the aft excretion vent) that people used to keep in their bedrooms in winter before the invention of things like central heating, PrimaLoft filled quilts, and battery powered, heated socks. Motorcycle riders also adopted the name for their pudding bowl helmets.

Here in Oz, a pisspot is one name for a habitual drunkard; chamber pots aren’t exactly pleasant either. Whatever the derivation this is perhaps the least PC cycling product name ever, although Surly’s since renamed Nice Rack is up there. 😉
