Your MTB prodigy already has a killer mountain bike. But what about that seat post? If you’re like us, you couldn’t live without a dropper post. It’s only fair that your kid gets one too, right? Thanks to PNW, there’s a new option for kid’s mountain bikes that’s actually built with little riders in mind…
Just like kid’s suspension, a kid-specific dropper post needs to work for lighter riders. You might be able to slap a standard dropper post on a kids bike, but the seals and air spring tuned for heavier riders may make it harder for your young one to operate. That’s why the PNW Fern has a light weight sealed cartridge meant for riders between 44 and 110lbs. It’s important to note that those weights are the minimum and maximum supported weights of the post.
In terms of size, the post is only offered in 27.2mm diameter with a 90mm travel. The chart above should help you figure out if it will fit your kid’s bike.
