German bike maker Ghost’s latest Asket CF rebuilds their popular and affordable gravel bike in lighter, more forgiving carbon retaining its signature flexing seatstays. But this carbon gravel bike does not skimp on bikepacking and adventure-ready features, including all the mounting points you could ever want and even gravel suspension forks on the top two models.
2024 Ghost Asket CF all-rounder carbon gravel bike
While most carbon bikes these days seem to aspire to be race bikes, this one is built for “touring, trails, and adventure” riding. Not a far cry from its alloy Asket gravel siblings. Ghost describe their new carbon Asket CF gravel bike as “developed for off-road use”. So, it’s no surprise as the Asket is clearly inspired by their Lector XC hardtail. Its kinked carbon seatstay design allows the rear end to flex for added rider comfort and improved grip, while retaining torsional rigidity and predictable handling.
This is a carbon gravel bike with “progressive gravel geometry” that’s happy to ridden over gravel roads or singletrack, whether you want to go fast or take in a more leisurely bikepacking trip with friends. But it’s still a quick ride with a size specific ~69.5° headtube, ~435mm chainstays, and long-ish frame Reach figures.
“Zippy, lively, playful, yet calm, the GHOST ASKET CF not only masters wide paths, but also offers a lot of safety on rough terrain and trails – a true all-rounder.”
Ghost says the adaptation of the Asket CF in the same premium light carbon of their XC race mountain bikes offers “a high degree of stiffness with low weight and great comfort”. In addition, a short rear end keeps the new gravel bike maneuverable.
