2025 Focus Thron² versatile alloy all-mountain trail eMTB
The Thron² has been around for several years as the German bike brand’s do-it-all mid-travel eMTB. Focus describes the basic idea of the Thron² platform as “two [e]bikes for two different purposes”.
You either get the standard Focus THRON² – a versatile full-power, plenty-of-travel all-mountain eMTB that can tackle pretty much any type of mountain biking you can throw at it. Or, you pick the fully-equipped THRON² EQP, with the exact same geo, travel & trail capabilities, but with the added everyday and touring versatility provided by a solid pannier-ready rear rack, full-coverage fenders, integrated lighting, and even a kickstand.
Or, the beauty of it all, the standard models can be added onto down the trail if you want any or all of that extra accessory versatility.
All that great versatility is unchanged.
Now, it just gets a big functional update and lower price points.
What’s new?
Now, with 140mm of four-bar F.O.L.D. rear wheel travel matched to 150mm forks, this more burly updated 2025 Focus Thron² ebike has 10-20mm more travel than the previous version. Combine that with a slack 66° headtube, middle-of-the-road 75.5° seat angle, long-ish Reach figures, taller Stack than before, and relatively long 455mm rear end… and this is going to be a properly trail-capable eMTB no matter what type of build you end up with.
New Bosch PowerTube options now also let you pick either 600Wh or 800Wh internal batteries – both smaller and larger range options than before. Plus, you can now add a 250Wh range extender external bottle battery to either setup to go even further.
And wrap that all up with the newest gen 5 Bosch Performance CX motor and you get an eMTB family with more useful and usable ebike power, easier hill starts, and much quieter operation.
The previous Thron² already had one EQP equipped model spec’d with anti-lock brakes. But now thanks to Bosch updating their ABS options for proper trail performance, most of the new Thron²s – both standard & EQP models – come with more powerful brakes and ABS that you can adjust for your style of riding.

Focus Thron² eMTB – Pricing, options & availability
The new and improved Focus THRON² & THRON² EQP ebikes are all available now from your local Focus dealer.
The Thron² 6.7 starts at 4700€ with Shimano Cues 10-speed, SR Suntour suspension, and without ABS. The Thron² 6.8 ABS starts at 5300€ with Deore 12sp, RockShox Psylo Silver/Deluxe Select suspension, and anti-lock TRP Trail Evo brakes. Then, the 6700€ Thron² 6.9 ABS takes it one level higher with XT, Fox 36 AWL HD +Float Rhythm suspension, and Magura MT-C ABS brakes.
The Thron² EQP comes in just 2 specs. For 4900€, you get the Thron² 6.7 EQP with the pannier rear rack, headlight with high beam, kickstand & full coverage metal fenders over 2.4″ Schwalbe Nobby Nic tires… all on top of the Cues 10sp drivetrain & SR Suntour suspension. The 5500€ Thron² 6.8 EQP ABS does the fenders, rack, kickstand & lights on top of a Deore 12sp build, SR Suntour suspension, and trail-ready Magura CT-ABS 4-piston anti-lock disc brakes.
For any of the new 2025 Thron² models, upgrading from the 600Wh to 800Wh internal battery adds 300€ to the starting prices above. It just adds the slightly larger battery cover that you can see in the top-spec models above.
The optional Bosch PowerMore 250Wh range extender will add around 460€.
