The Coastal Crew is back, this time in what looks to be an awesome collaboration with Anthill Films to bring you their first feature mountain bike film, From the Inside Out. The Coastal crew is a small group of riders who wish to bring their vision to film, from a rider’s perspective. A while back we posted a video shot by Taylor Sage, of sort of what shaped the Coastal Crew into what they are today.

Up until now, most of the Coastal Crew’s work has been beautifully shot short films, working with companies to produce product trailers. Now however, through 2nd Base Films which is a new joint film company formed by the Coastal Crew and Anthill films, their first feature film is set for release this fall.

If the feature length film is half as good as the trailer, it will easily be one of the best MTB vids around, as if the trailer didn’t stoke you out to ride, you probably aren’t human. From the Inside Out will feature the Coastal Crew – Curtis Robinson, Dylan Dunkerton, Kyle Norbraten, along with the likes of Brandon Semenuk, Steve Smith, Thomas Vanderham, Matt Hunter, Graham Agassiz, Mike Hopkins and Kenny Smith as they ride all of the locations that amp them up to ride including the Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Whistler, Shuswap, Fernie, Rossland, Squamish, Vancouver Island and Kamloops.

The film is scheduled to be released this Fall on DVD, BluRay and digital download. You can follow 2nd Base Films on Facebook, and Twitter.

So in all these downhill videos you have the camera flying along overhead. In this video there is a cool shot of the rider seemingly almost colliding with the camera. How do they make those shots? I guess there is a cable strung between some trees overhead and they pull the camera along the cable? Would love to see a ‘making of’ video. Nice music, production, etc. The last rider in the clip wasn’t as inspiring to me, he didn’t seem as fluid.
