DT’s ARC aero road bike wheels just got lighter, faster, deeper & wider, once again.
This next generation of DT Swiss ARC aero road wheels features dramatic new rim shaping with sharp V-shaped noses, greatest widths in their midsection, and depth-specific tapering back to the tire. Plus, deeper profiles all-around – 55mm, 65mm & 85mm – and even some weight savings at the same time. It’s a complete aerodynamic redesign to balance out the larger frontal area of modern wide, lower rolling resistance road racing tires. That means you will go faster than ever… especially if you pair these with the DT + Continental Aero 111 dimpled tire as a Wheel Tire System.
2025 DT Swiss ARC v3 carbon aero road wheels updated

DT Swiss ARC aero race carbon road wheels have been a reliable source for solid aerodynamics & tubeless performance ever since they first launched in 2017 with a wide, curved U-shaped rim developed together with Swiss Side, but still quite conservative narrow internal widths. Then in 2020, they got a major overhaul with a faster VU-shape optimized to bigger tires and a 17% internal width increase.
Now they are completely reshaped again, reaching a bit back into the past for inspiration with a new curvy reinterpretation of sharp-nosed V-shape profiles, and another 10% increase in internal width for the slightly deeper family of aero wheels.
Oh yeah, and of course, they are faster too!
Why a V-shape (again)?

For more than a decade, aerodynamic wheels have moved away from the old-school straight-side V-shape rim profiles that originally evolved out of aluminum rims. A big part of that was to boost performance in crosswinds and especially to improve stability in variable wind conditions. But now that road tires keep getting wider (for decreased rolling resistance, better grip, and improved comfort), DT says they had to rethink wide tire aerodynamics.

DT Swiss says the sharper tip of the new V-shaped rims helps to better cut through the air, offsetting the larger frontal area that comes with contemporary road tires.

At the same time, the overall curved profile tapering back in towards the tire maintains DT’s characteristic aero performance:
- positive ‘sailing effect’ where drag tapers off (or even eventually pushes you forward!) as the wind comes stronger from the side (more extreme yaw angles), and…
- ‘low steering moment’ (a flatter curve) so that the wheels are not jarring to ride in gusty or changing wind conditions.

What’s new?

- new 55mm, 65mm & 85mm rim depths (up from 50, 62 & 80mm)
- new 22mm hooked tubeless internal rim width (up from 20mm)
- new stepped rim bed & tire seat for better tubeless tire sealing
- optimized aerodynamics for 29mm wide Aero 111 dimpled front tire
- lower 2-spoke count front wheels (down from 24)
